You'll learn to centre clay and shape simple forms like bowls or cylinders. The class runs Fridays and Saturdays in Smithfield and costs €60. Sensible shoes and short nails are recommended!




If you’re after a social spin, BYOB Pottery Nights at Dublin Pottery invite you to bring your favourite drink while learning to throw on the wheel in a fun, casual setting. These two-hour classes run on Friday and Saturday evenings, and also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Cost is €45, and everything you need is provided.

In Dublin, don’t miss Paint by the Pints: Corks & Canvas, happening on Friday, 8 August 2025, from 6:30–8:30pm at The Bernard Shaw, Drumcondra (D09 XW44). 4. Candle & Perfume Making – Craft Your Own Scents

In Kilkenny, Wired Irish Crafts is running Candle Making Workshops on Saturday 9th and 16th August at 2pm at Unit 3B, The Castleyard. You’ll use eco-friendly soy wax and your choice of vegan fragrances to make your own candle, all under the guidance of expert makers. For something a little more magical, head to Glandore, West Cork, where Waters + Wild offers a Natural Perfume Course (€120). The 2.5-hour workshop is led by Joan Woods, an award-winning perfumer with 12+ years of experience. You’ll learn how your sense of smell works, explore scent families and layers (top, middle, base notes), and create a 10ml perfume using rare natural ingredients like organic rose otto, agarwood, neroli, frankincense, and seaweed absolute. Although the June 7th date was cancelled, new dates are coming soon. The class runs in two sessions: 10:30am–1:00pm and 2:30–5:00pm.
